Meadowview of Johnston, a senior community in Johnston, Iowa, has a wonderful opportunity for an experienced RN, Assistant Director of Health Services (ADHS) to join our team. Our 106-unit campus includes independent living (46-units), assisted living (39-units), and memory care (21-units) options for our residents. As the Registered Nurse Assistant Director of Health Services, you will report to the Director of Health Services and work together to ensure the residents care plans are being implemented. Hours for this position are 8:00am – 4:30pm which includes being on call and taking calls for staffing. 

RN Assistant Director of Health Services responsibilities: 

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care plans for residents.  
  • Recognizes and manages common geriatric syndromes common to aging adults: cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary, neurological, sensory and pain problems.
  • Supervises work performed by clinical department
  • Displays a courteous attitude and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
  • Administers medications and/or treatments in accordance with physician's orders and monitors for effectiveness/response.
  • Manages medications, supplies, and equipment including ordering, receiving, storing, and disposing of all items in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Documents care using computerized medication administration and charting software.
  • Notifies Clinical Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and takes follow up action as necessary.
RN Assistant Director of Health Services skills and requirements:
  • MUST have 1 year of AL experience. 
  • Current Iowa Registered Nurse license required.
  • Assisted Living / Memory Care experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work autonomously 
  • Follow up effectively and prioritize task efficiently 
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license required.
  • Assisted Living / Memory Care experience preferred.
