As an RN, Clinical Coordinator at Baptist, you will oversee the case management for the care of residents. Clinical Coordinators are Nurse Managers with responsibility to manage the day to day flow of work within the nursing department. Successful Clinical Coordinators are critical in educating, consoling, and listening to families and residents for concerns regarding resident care. Clinical coordinators are responsible to assure that staff is provided all necessary care to residents, attend training and follow-ups. This position provides services to skilled residents only.

This is a Full-Time, benefit eligible position with a $25,000 Bonus!

Shifts: Monday – Friday (8:00am to 4:30pm) with rotating on-call schedule every 7th week.  Shift times may vary. 

Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Coordinator Responsibilities:

Nurse Resource Duties:

  1. Assist in the completion of assessments as required-including all, but not limited to: nursing, skin, fall risk, continence, etc.
  2. Assist other personnel in the administration of total resident care.
  3. Function as the Team Lead when needed.
  4. Will function as a RN Nursing Supervisor. Tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with Scheduler to ensure adequate staff levels
  • Supervise and provide oversight and direction to direct care staff.
  • Respond to emergency situations as the need arises.
  • Administer IV’s, obtain blood samples and assist with other professional nursing procedures as needed.
  • Provide guidance and counseling in the resolution of problems with resident, family and staff as needed.
  • Communicate with Team Lead regarding any special needs a resident may have
  • Participates in staff evaluation process. Evaluate the job performance for Team Leads, CMA’s, and CNA’s and forward evaluation to the DON.
  • Communicate with families and physicians as needed.
  • Enter information into Matrix of new nurses, CNA’s and CMA’s and end dates.
  • Coordinate orientation schedules with Nursing Staff Scheduler for all new nursing department employees.
  • Assist with QA audits as needed.
  • Serve as professional interface with physicians and ancillary personnel to obtain and communicate information regarding resident care and related medical programs.
  • Assist with administration of vaccines, TB’s for residents and staff as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of general policies and procedures designed to affect the efficiency of nursing service operations.
  • Assist in training and education of new personnel; monitor staff’s work for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with professional standards and established nursing services requirements.
  • Participate in problem solving affecting the care of residents with complex needs.
  • Utilize resources to interpret diagnostic test findings and physical assessment data in relation to all body systems and resident as a whole.
  • Participate in development of plans to meet resident/family teaching needs.
  • Recommend in-service programs on recognized clinical issues and needs.
  • Assure all staff incidents are investigated and cause determined.
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring of Team Leads, CNA’s and CMA’s.
  • Assist DON/ADON with any other related duties as assigned: including but not limited to chart auditing and survey preparedness.

Registered Nurse (RN) skills and requirements:

  • Current ND RN license required. 
  • 1+ year of LTC experience preferred.
  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with a desire to be a leader.
