In this role, you will lead employees in maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry departments to maintain our community. You will also have the opportunity to bond with our residents and make a difference in their lives. Our ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent customer service and time management skills. We are looking for someone who is not afraid of getting their hands dirty and who will lead by example.

Position Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible position

Wage Range: $27 - $31 / hour depending on experience

Location: 930 West 16th Street, Hastings, MN 55033

Maintenance Director Responsibilities:

  • Arrange for and/or perform heating and cooling system maintenance; electrical, plumbing, and all other mechanical maintenance; lawn care and landscaping; snow and ice removal; clearing debris from outside areas; window cleaning.
  • Respond to requests for maintenance in ongoing and urgent situations.
  • Arrange for plant inspections to comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Perform supervisory functions for both maintenance and housekeeping staff.
  • Purchase supplies as needed and researches/negotiates vendor contracts.
  • Assist with planning and managing the physical plant budget.
  • Perform additional duties as required. 
Maintenance Director skills and requirements: 
  • 3+ years' experience in long term care or other facility maintenance.
  • High school diploma or GED required, post high school education/training preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum class "SPECIAL" boiler operator license is preferred or willing to obtain within 3 months required.
  • Valid MN Driver's License.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and physical plant maintenance, as well as state and federal building and grounds regulations.
