Adult Day Program Assistant - On Call

Open Circle of Apple Valley is hiring an On-Call Assistant Program Coordinator to join out team at our adult day center.  Available shifts are Monday through Friday with NO evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts! Come and join our supportive, collaborative  and creative team, where your skills will help make a difference in the lives of our members.  This is a great opportunity for those interested in a career change or wanting to learn new skills to make a difference in the lives of others. 

In this role, you will work with a dedicated team to assist members with purposeful activities such as creative arts, brain games, reminiscence and community engagement.  Our ideal candidate is passionate about working with mature adults (including those living with dementia), thrives in a positive work environment, and has good critical thinking skills. We are looking for someone who enjoys sharing your gifts/ talents with others. 

This is an On-Call position.  

Program Assistant responsibilities:

• Support daily calendar activities such as table games, arts and crafts, word games/trivia, active games, music, community outings and more.
• Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all members, families, and staff.
• Update the team on members' progress, needs, and/or changes of behavior.
• Perform additional tasks as needed including light personal cares.  

Program Assistant requirements:

• Previous experience in recreational therapy or related healthcare field preferred, but not required.
• Caregiving (CNA, HHA or PCA) experience a plus.
• Previous experience working in Memory Care preferred.
• A compassionate attitude.
• A passion to work with elderly adults.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
