Hastings Senior Health & Living, a 5-star rated, 72-bed long term care center, is hiring Part-Time Culinary Assistants to join our team!  In this entry-level role, you will gain valuable knowledge and experience by serving our residents, employees, and family members’ meals. There are Part-Time positions  Hours: 4:00pm - 8:00pm 

You must be at least 16 years old. Safety is our number one priority. Staff are provided with personal protective equipment. Potential training opportunity to cross train to cooking position available to candidate looking for an opportunity for advancement. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills!

Culinary Assistant responsibilities:

  • Work within the department to provide quality and nutritious meals and service to residents.
  • Assist with food preparation and serving meals to residents.
  • Help maintain a clean and sanitary dietary department.
  • Wash dishes and clean the kitchen and dining rooms.
  • Assist residents, employees, and guests with a broad range of dietary needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and families.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.

Culinary Assistant skills and requirements: 

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Be willing to be cross trained in other areas in food service (cooking).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills. 
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Selected candidates are required to pass background checks.
