In this important role, no two days are the same you might manage a team of activity professionals, plan, and conduct fun and exciting activities for our residents. You may also work 1:1 with residents including memory care residents.  Our ideal candidate is self-motivated with a genuine concern for our residents' well-being, has a creative personality and positive attitude, and can think on their feet.

This is a 32 hour a week position benefit eligible position working a varied schedule including availability on weekends and evenings as needed.

Pay: $24-27 hr.
Shift: Day 

Activities Director responsibilities:

  • Establish a master program plan that includes on-going daily programs for all residents including group and 1-1 programs, community outings and outdoor activities.
  • Hire, train and evaluate staff in the Activities Department.
  • Coordinate special community events for residents and families.
  • Arrange weekend, evening and holiday activities.
  • Ensure meaningful activities are scheduled and executed seven days a week.
  • Encourage, support, and assist residents with activities.
  • Promote resident involvement and active decision-making in daily program schedule.
  • Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families and staff. 
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Activities Manager preferred requirements:

  • BA or BS degree in a health/human services related field
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a therapeutic activity department or 5+ years professional experience in a patient therapeutic activity program setting.
  • Experience working with older adults (with dementia/memory care strongly preferred)
  • Ability to complete state specific training
  • Willing to collaborate and work hands-on in various other areas of the campus (i.e. reception, culinary)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respect confidentiality of resident information.
  • Ability to manage diverse individuals and multiple priorities at once.

Activities Director skills and requirements:

  • BA or BS degree in health/human services related field.

  • Experience working with older adults.

  • Must be eligible to work in the Federal Health Program.
