Cassia, an Augustana Care/ Elim Care affiliation, is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to work with our growing department. The successful performance of this position requires meeting high standards in the areas of accounting, financial and statistical reporting. The Director of Finance reports to the VP of Finance.

Position Type: Full-Time, Hybrid

Wage Range: $100,000 - $115,000 annually depending on experience

Director of Finance Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Month-End Close closing process by working with staff Accountants to prepare the financial statements by following GAAP and rules and regulations applies to Long-Term Care and HUD facilities
  • Prepare and compile Annual budget for skilled nursing homes, Assisted Living, and Housing
  • Plan, organize and coordinate the year-end audit
  • Prepare Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports
  • File the 990 tax returns and sales tax
  • Attend Board Meetings
  • Assist in new business acquisition
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Provide support to the senior management team and site staff
  • Recruit, train and retain competent accounting staff
  • Complete other projects and tasks assigned
Director of Finance Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and state and federal long-term care regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess strong work ethic and lead by example
  • Ability to make solid, objective, ethical decisions
  • Excellent communication, organizational, technology and leadership skills
  • A team player who is willing to help and to share and accept ideas and information with others
  • At least 3 – 5 years of experience in Long-Term Care accounting with previous management responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a CPA designation is preferred
  • Highly proficient with Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct preferred
